Seminar Topic: Strategies for Effective Reimbursement Negotiations

Providers routinely leave thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars on the table each year because their chargemaster isn’t set appropriately or because they’re not getting what they should be getting in reimbursements. Effective negotiations cannot happen if you don’t have an accurate baseline and data to support your position! If you’re responsible for setting your practice’s chargemaster, analyzing fee schedules, negotiating with payers, or signing off on negotiations, this special 2-hour seminar is for you!
We will cover:
– Setting your chargemaster and analysis: are you setting your chargemaster appropriately?
– Fee schedule analysis part one: reports to pull, how to set up your fee schedules, chargemasters, and CMS schedules in Excel for an at-a-glance look at performance, and how to avoid the dreaded “lesser than” clause.
– Fee schedule analysis part two: deep dive into a single payer using utilization and break-even analysis to look for strengths and weaknesses in a payer’s offer, and how to counteroffer.
– Part three: formulating your plan for negotiations: You have the data, but you need to know what to do with it!
